How to choose an outpatient provider

You choose your own outpatient provider when you live at AMIAM. These questions can help.

Questions to ask

  • Do they take your insurance, and what will you pay?
  • Do their hours fit your work or school?
  • Can you get there easily, or do they offer online sessions?
  • Are they comfortable with the medication you take?
  • Do they respect your choices and listen to you?

Where to look

FindTreatment.gov is a free search from the federal government. You can also call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357, free and open 24 hours.

We do not steer you to any provider and take nothing of value from any provider you choose. AMIAM is not affiliated with the sites above.
