A home, not a facility

AMIAM Recovery is an integration home for adult men in San Diego, especially male veterans and first responders returning from ibogaine treatment abroad. It is also a sober house, with one set of house rules for everyone. Residents share one home and one set of house rules, and each attends the outpatient provider of their choice.

We are not a treatment facility, a detox clinic or a boarding house. Residents live together as peers in recovery, with a house manager and rules everyone follows.

Fifteen years of sober houses

We have run sober houses in Southern California for more than fifteen years, including a beachfront home in Malibu for over a decade, until the January 2025 Palisades Fire. We are bringing the same standards to San Diego. The owners run the home directly, and the atmosphere is closer to a family household than an institution. More about us.

A day at AMIAM

• Mornings and afternoons belong to your own recovery plan: your outpatient provider, work, school or job search.
• Evenings are for you. House and recovery meetings are part of the evening schedule.
• Residents attend three recovery meetings a week if they are working, and four or five if they are not.
• You come home to a clean, quiet, sober house.
• Optional outings give the house shared memories.
