Integration home or halfway house?
Both are places to live while you build a sober life. They tend to work differently, and every home sets its own rules, so ask any home the same questions.
Halfway houses
Many halfway houses are connected to the court system, a release from custody or a funded agency, and stays often have a set end date.
An integration home like AMIAM
- You choose to live here, and staying is voluntary.
- Every resident follows the same house rules.
- You pay from your own funds or money your family gives you for housing.
- You attend the outpatient provider of your choice.
- Residents live together as peers in recovery, with a house manager.
